Why IATL?
Facilitators are catalysts of learning. The role of the facilitator is to enable learners to build on existing knowledge, skill and experience and find new applications for the same.
Facilitation is therefore a learner centric exercise specifically designed to meet learner needs.
We often limit ourselves by defining learner needs as certain predefined learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skill or attitudinal changes to be developed as a result of the learning intervention. It is essential to also include the following in learning design and deliver –
- Creating an environment conducive to learning where the learner experiences psychological safety to express and explore
- Learners are fully engaged in the learning process
- Learners experience connectedness with the facilitator and with each other as a group for higher assimilation of learning
- Learners find support for individual learning preferences and pace
To make all of this possible, the facilitator needs to develop not just cognitive abilities in terms of tools and techniques required to deliver the explicit learning requirements but also the inner capacity to cater to implicit learner needs. And in order to do so efficiently and impactfully, the facilitator needs to hone their outer game – the skill & knowledge required to do the job, as well as their inner game – their inner state, feelings, thoughts and emotions in the moment, during the process of delivery.

Program Structure
Step 1 – 2-day Masterclass on developing capability + capacity to facilitate. Will include 15-min recorded Pre-Assessment per person on a pre decided topic of the participant’s choice, using IATL Facilitator Assessment Tool. 21-Day Practice Activities will be shared with participants to help sharpen their abilities. (Face to Face intervention)
Step 2 – 1*1 online coaching conversation with each participant based on the pre-assessment and individual learning objectives
Step 3 – 30-min teach back per person on topics related to learning techniques and methodologies from a list of topics selected by IATL Facilitators, including time for self-review + peer feedback. (Face to Face Intervention post 21 days of Masterclass)
Step 4 – 1*1 online coaching conversation based on teach back culminating in Certification (basis the IATL Facilitator Assessment Tool)
